FPCCFCU to Break Ground on New Headquarters

Fire Police City County Federal Credit Union is scheduled to break ground on its new state-of-the-art headquarters Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025. The project, which was announced during FPCCFCU’s 2024 Annual Meeting, has been spurred by the credit union’s continued growth in recent years.

The new headquarters, located at the corner of North Clinton Street and Penn Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana, will encompass an estimated 22,000-square feet, including a full-service branch to accommodate the credit union’s rising membership and growing staff.

“This building is more than just an investment in infrastructure — it's an investment in our people, our mission, and our future,” FPCCFCU Executive Vice President and COO Nikki Felger said. “After more than 90 years of serving our members, we’re not just building a headquarters — we’re building a legacy for the next generation.”

FPCCFCU was founded in 1933 as the Fort Wayne Firefighters Credit Union. In addition to eight core membership groups including area fire departments and law enforcement as well as the City of Fort Wayne, membership to the credit union is open to employees and volunteers of more than 360 select employee groups and their family members.

The credit union currently serves more than 11,300 members at six branches in Fort Wayne and New Haven, having seen a 7% increase in membership over the last five years. In that time, FPCCFCU’s total asset size has grown by roughly 46%.

“As our membership continues to grow, it’s essential that we grow with it,” FPCCFCU President and CEO Diane Scherer said. “This new headquarters represents our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional service, expanding our capabilities, and investing in the future of Fire Police City County FCU. We’re excited to build a space that reflects our values and enhances the experience for both our members and our team.”

The new branch location, which is expected to open in early 2027, will combine a warm, inviting atmosphere with cutting-edge technology including electric vehicle chargers and interactive teller machines, providing increased member convenience and streamlined transactions. The project is a continuation of FPCCFCU’s ongoing efforts to enhance the member experience through financial technology solutions.

“This investment allows us to continue to evolve in ways that support both personal service and the innovative tools our members rely on to manage their finances with greater ease and confidence,” CFO Anna Prindle said.

Strebig Construction Inc. is the general contractor for the project, and MartinRiley architects-engineers is the building’s architect. Upon completion of the project, the credit union plans to decommission its main branch location at 3306 N Clinton St., which sits north of the property on which the new headquarters will be constructed.
